Hsi Shih-Pin’s solo exhibition “A Horoscope Built Out of Our Chariots“ presents a great amount of drawings, and works featuring a structure consisting of wide-scale images. The artist’s unique style brings out his desire for “idealism” and “distance”.
The catalogue includes a collection of articles by the professional art critics Jian Tzu-Chieh and Chang Ching-Wen, and a series of new works by the artist, such as Scale Model: Ashvins, Scale Model: Olympus from the Hometown, Actaeon – The Moonlight Deer and other large-scale installations. Graphic works as Horse #2: Sagittarius, Sketch: The Holy Grail, Sketch: The Cathedral and others have also been entered into the catalogue. High-ceilings, a well-designed and futuristic white exhibition space is reminiscent of the atmosphere of the movie, “2011: A Space Odyssey”.
