2024 ART TAINAN

In celebration of the 400th anniversary of Tainan, Liang Gallery is once again participating in this year’s Tainan Art Expo, meticulously planning an exhibition themed around historiography, geography, and literary narrative. Renowned artists such as CHOU Tai-CHUN, Leo Wang, CHIANG Kai-Chun, Chen Chu-li, and Yu Ya-Lan showcase captivating works that revolve around the narration of history and memory, presenting diverse responses from different perspectives.

CHOU Tai-CHUN utilizes a generational visual experience to respond to the intricate relationship between humanity, history, and nature. The dimensions of time and space are intricately interwoven through layered imagery, where concrete symbols and abstract emotions repeatedly intersect.Leo Wang portrays significant historical events along the timeline of civilization, reflecting on the past while envisioning the future, exploring the paths to come. Employing a collage technique,CHIANG Kai-Chun contrasts the eternal stability of mosaic stones with the fleeting memories and yearnings, capturing moments of eternity.In Chen Chu-li’s creations, the interdependence and delicate balance between past traces and present realizations are artfully depicted. Utilizing the nourishment of past shadows, she narrates new chapters of stories.Yu Ya-Lan, through delicate print textures, condenses unspoken and abundant memories and emotions from everyday life, encapsulating each unique moment.

In response to history and memory, from collective to individual, internal to external, rational to emotional, retrospective to being in the present, artists present diverse profiles and expressions based on their unique understanding and experiences.
